As 2018 draws to a close we look forward to 2019....

Yet another great year for the National Dwarf, with some great shows and events. Our first was the Intermediate show at Essex Champ, a first visit for the National to Essex. We had a great show with many congratulations to Remlap Stud on going BIS with a Black Otter under Jodie Atkinson. Our next get together was our Breeders Day, a few of us headed for Cambridge and we had a really great day, Simon and I lead the “hands on” day and it was great to see so many new faces, a great success.
Hot on its heels was the BBQ and box show, returning to Beaver Hall Equestrian Centre near Leek. Once a again a great atmosphere, a rather cloudy day in the middle of our extraordinary hot summer, so better for the rabbits but not
for the sun tans. Kevin Farnsworth making his debut behind the judging table, he

did a great job, best in show G&D Hodson with a Siamese Sable and also best under 5 with a Siamese Smoke. Lots of favourable comments on his debut which lead to him gaining lots of votes on the ballot.

Autumn came and our Young Stock Show returned to Grantham, yet again a great entry due to a great location. Simon Beynon was really looking forward to judging a fresh crop of youngsters. As always some very competitive classes, before long the winners started to emerge and G&D Hodson went BIS with a Siamese Sable.

London Championship next for our Autumn Show, Yours truly judging the National and after some really strong classes, Moss Stud headed the field with a very good Black Otter, their first National BIS, well done.

Finally, we were back at Uttoxeter for our ASS and President’s Shows. A great entry, a few new faces which is great for the club, and classes as competitive as ever. Tommy Halfpenny judged section 1 and Lucy Wheal section 2. After another great auction it was time for the 22 CC winners to get on that top table. Emma Sargant after completing the young Support Show and making Saxony Stud best with a really typy agouti, set about the adults. Before long she was down to three and finally just one, best in show G&D Hodson with a Siamese Sable. The day after Simon Whincup and Gemma McKell judged our President’s Show and after another great day, Annalee stud came out on top with their Marten Sable, once again their first BIS.

2018 shows over and we head into 2019, our 70th anniversary. We will be holding our Intermediate Show in the Northern Area this year, Bury and Radcliffe in April, Breeders day and BBQ shortly after, young stock returning to Grantham and the big one. A new venue for our ASS and President’s Show, Southwell Racecourse, near Newark. The whole year will be celebrating the 70 years of the NNDRC, culminating in the weekend at Southwell Racecourse, 2nd and 3rd of November and we would love you all to join us.
